Director Wanted!

Director Wanted: Blue Apple Players is currently hiring one director for a unique role-play training team that works with Child Protective Service Workers.

We are looking for a director who is comfortable with role-play/improvisation and is willing to engage in serious subject matter. Director will need to guide actors through a rehearsal process to prepare them to role-play given character scenarios of a child (aged between 4 – 18) to be interviewed by training Child Protective Service Workers.  Guidance and support provided by a Project Producer.

Trainings events for Child Protective Service Workers will occur throughout Kentucky. Director will be asked to accompany actors as a company manager –providing team guidance and administrative communication. Housing and transportation for regional trips is provided by the Blue Apple Players.

A project stipend will be provided. $1200 (approx per availability of director)

Rehearsals begins in March. Regional work dates: April 18th, May 9th & 31st (and one additional date to be determined). Some flexibility on dates.

It’s that time of year again! It’s time for our ninth annual fundraiser, Blue Apple On Broadway! This year it’s Saturday, March 10th at the Brown Theatre (315 W. Broadway)
This one of a kind fundraising event for Blue Apple Players begins at 7:00 p.m. with cocktails and you can make a meal from the generous appetizers from Louisville’s best restaurants! Also back at the event this year is The Wheel of Chance. A raffle with a fun twist, great odds and chances to win fantastic prizes! And the fun is just beginning! At 8 p.m., the highpoint of the evening is seeing major business leaders and celebrities performing Blue Apple original songs. This year’s stars include John Yarmuth, Mayor Greg Fischer, Allan Cowen, Mandy Connell, Sug Schusterman, Dr. Shiao Woo, John Shaw-Woo, David Jones Jr., Mary Gwen Wheeler, the women of GLOW and many more!!! We conclude the evening with coffee, desserts, libations, celebrating and mingling with the stellar cast!
It’s a wonderful event for a great cause and so much fun year after year!
