A Tribute to the Immigrants & the Enduring Power of the American Dream.
THE MELTING POT: An American Story, tells the tale of the millions of brave individuals who immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island in the early 1900′s. Over half of Americans today can trace their roots to those who arrived through Ellis Island, where only the poorest, steerage-class passengers were processed. These stalwart individuals were willing to undergo a rigorous journey under inhumane conditions for a chance of a better life for themselves and their families in America. Drawn from actual experiences, ranging from a Jewish tailor who is on his way to Chicago to an Irishman who recounts discrimination in the song “Irish Need Not Apply.” This patriotic musical highlights the struggles they faced and the hopes and dreams they had for their new life in America.
